This concert featuring the Jessica Stuart Trio is in celebration of "Let's Not Try So Hard", Stuart's first release in 5 years.

Originally written on a ukulele in the passenger seat of a car ride from Montreal to Toronto, "Let's Not Try So Hard" dares listeners to really tune in and join the "slow music" revolution. Stuart's unusually honest, unmanicured studio performance (with lead vocal & guitar recorded in a full take live-off-the-floor) sets up the question of how to find the magic balance that bridges the demands of the "pocket computer" era with our ability to know when to fall back from our plans, and ride the wave of life happening around us.

Toronto-based guitarist/vocalist/songwriter, Jessica Stuart made her career writing/performing harmonically adventurous, devastatingly honest indie-jazz-rock tunes around the world. Stuart is a rare professional female guitarist, with dozens of credits ranging from Mirvish Productions’ SIX to WizTheMC to Idioteque, and loves putting her chops in the spotlight, playing trio with killer rhythm section Wynston Minckler (bass) and Trent Otter (drums).
